What's new

For Ryan, it's a brand new laminated socket for his prosthesis.  It's lightweight, durable, and stylish too!

For Pam, it's a trip to repair shop and a couple of days in a rental car, thanks to a young man who rear-ended my minivan at an intersection.  (No injuries, thankfully.)

For Jaida, it's a cute new 'do and highlights.

For Maya, it's a couple of clementines shoved under her shirt, thanks to big sister.

For Noah, it's nothing new.  He's still just a mess!

New Year's Resolution

Maya resolves to sleep in her toddler bed from now on.

Noah does not.

That's what friends are for

My best friend, Jennie, flew out to see me for a long weekend after Christmas.  And a perfect long weekend it was.  She left the kids with her mom and dad (thank you Grammie and Master Guns!) and Ryan stepped up, BIG TIME, to give Jennie and I lots of "girl time" together.  We enjoyed delicious meals together, saw a movie, saw "Cats" at the Majestic Theatre, and got glorious massages.  And every moment in between was spent talking and just being ourselves together.  It's so easy being friends with Jennie.  It's so hard living so far away.

Enjoying a few gifts

I just wanted to share a few of my favorite photos of everyone with just a sampling of the nice gifts they received for Christmas.

This picture of Noah cracks me up.  These are his first footie pajamas and he appears quite intrigued by them.  Look at that face!

Maya had been riding just a tricycle until Santa brought her this new bike.  You can't tell that she likes it at all!

Ryan got Guitar Hero for Christmas, but even in the picture, you can see that Jaida is claiming it for herself.  I don't know who loves it (or plays it) more.
